Solange Covers South Africa's Elle Magazine

During Solange’s stay in Cape Town, she filmed the “Losing You” video and also landed the cover of Elle South Africa. Solo’s all about brights so no surprise that she went with colorful outfits. According to Asanda Sizani, the mag’s fashion editor:

She teamed brights, prints and different textures, and wore clothes by South African designers. I love the cover – it’s my favourite one of the year. The yellow background is perfect for her sunny personality. This was a big fashion coup for us, and I am proud to be part of the ELLE team.

Rob Evans was born in 1988, in Oxford, United Kingdom, is British boxer turned model, most notably known for his work with "Givenchy" for the Spring 2011 season. When Evans was discovered in 2010, the last thing he was thinking about was modeling. Many have tried but we really haven't had a black male model stir up a buzz since the legendary Tyson Beckford. So far modeling has allowed Evans to walk in shows in Paris and in the 2011 NY fashion week had designers scrambling to include his stunning presense in their runway shows. Photographers have been breaking necks to get the opportunity to capture him in front of their lens.

Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution

First-time filmmaker and Atlanta resident, Deborah Riley Draper has created an incredible stir with her documentary Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution.

The film documents the now legendary battle between French and American haute couture designers at the Chateau de Versailles on November 28, 1973. The American contingent relied heavily on Black fashion models for the first time ever and the beauty, poise and attitude of these women turned the tide for the U.S, turning the fashion world on its ear.

This is an excellent story, and Ms. Draper tells it clearly and stylishly, teasing out the interesting angles and repercussions. She gives you all the backstage drama and one-upmanship of “let’s put on a show,” building to the appropriate climax: the big night.

Must Have Items For Your Bugatti

You've just purchased your brand new Wei Long Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport 2012. This is one car that with that white/red trim just looks brilliantly gorgeous and aggressively appealing.  These figures allow the car to reach 62 mph from standing in an unbelievable 2.6 seconds. The top speed of 255 mph makes the four-wheel drive Grand Sport the fastest production roadster ever.

No need to stop there. Bugatti offers the most luxurious and exclusive items. In line with the car, of which only 300 are being made, and the timepiece, of which only 150 were made available, Bugatti is offering only 400 bottles of its limited edition perfume. The £2,395 Prestige Edition of the super-luxe scent comes in a crystal bottle encased in a 24-carat gold-plated sculpture, said to be inspired by the wing on the venerated Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic.

With echoes of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4's sexy curves, the Parmigiani Bugatti Super Sport watch is the third high-performance collaboration from the opulent Swiss watchmaker and French sports car manufacturer. All 337 individual parts of the watch are produced in-house at Parmigiani, with the exception of the Hermès strap. Produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces in 18kt white gold, the Parmigiani Bugatti Super Sport retails for $259,000 at selected authorized Parmigiani dealers around the world.

A classically elegant, shirtwaister-style pullover made from the finest Italian cashmere in muted black with cashew-coloured button placket. It mirrors the timeless elegance of the Bugatti brand: two-tone colour schemes were already a distinctive characteristic of early Bugatti motor cars. The neckband bears Ettore Bugatti’s signature, while the inventor’s initials are discreetly, yet distinctively monogrammed on the left chest.

Iconic Fashion Spotlight: Stephen Burrows

Since the 1970s, Stephen Burrows has graced the stage of some of the most monumental events with his designs. From Michelle Obama to Naomi Campbell, his remarkable eye for fashion is known for its prestige. Though his hype in the earlier days happened to be during the most "high" times of the disco days, he became one of the first African-American men in the industry.

Burrows is arguably known for his signature, "Lettuce hems" and sexy chiffons. Ginia Bellefante of the New York Times summed up the sexiness of the label by saying, “The most distinctive element of Mr. Burrows's clothes is that they looked as if they left the house around midnight to wind up the next afternoon a crumpled heap on some bedroom floor at an address the wearer was probably not all that familiar with 24 hours earlier.”
