Men's style tips from Raheem Nelson and 'Dandy In the Bronx,' Diego Leon

Diego Leon is fashion blogger Dandy In the Bronx and he and fellow "dandy" and artist Raheem Nelson offered some advice for young men looking to step their style up a bit. Leon says that he loves high fashion, but advises guys to discover whatever style works for them.

"If this is your style, people will respect it," Leon explains. "I'm from the Bronx, and we have a mix of styles. If you're wearing a hoodie or a fitted cap and you're feeling 100% in that, more power to you. But I wnat that power right back."

Both Leon and Nelson advise fashion fans to focus on suits first and foremost.

"For someone starting out, I know you have that one suit," says Leon. "Get it tailored. You can get a suit that you bought at Macy's and take it to get tailored and it will look like a thousand books. And borrow grandpa or dad's clothes and get them tailored as well."

"I enjoy wearing a suit because it's like another artform for me," adds Nelson. "I approach like any discipline."

"Start with your basics: get your black, get your grey/charcoal and get your navy. Accessories? Keep it simple to start."

"Dressing this way has shown me a lot in terms of how poeple treat you. We say 'you can't judge a book by it's cover,' but sadly, that's not true," says Leon. "People judge you based on the way you look. Since you have control of that, you might as well offer the best presentation of yourself. Putting on a suit, with a flower and a tie, raises my confidences level."

"I used to just dress like this if I had a meeting with a client," shares Nelson. "But I think just doing this regularly, I feel great about myself. And you do notice that you're treated differently if you're wearing a nice, tailored suit."

There’s no question Rihanna is a huge pop star. Today, in Downtown Brooklyn, NY, fans slept overnight on the sidewalk in anticipation of the debut of her new fragrance, RiRi by RIhanna, at Macy’s.

“I know I made a great decision coming to Brooklyn because Brooklyn fans are on another level,” says the 27-year-old star who looked amazing wearing Vivienne Westwood, glammed in Alison Lou jewelry, a Mikimoto pearl necklace and complete with matching Christian Louboutin heels.

The first 400 people to buy her perfume were to be given VIP passes to meet her at the event. RiRi is the first in the trilogy of fragrances separate from the dozen other past fragrances the Baja star has launched.

The scent is a crisp floral – fruity and it comes in a pink bottle of the new design compared to the rest of the collection.

The top notes include accords of mandarin, cassis, rum and passion fruit. Its floral heart captures flowers of pink freesia, jasmine, orange blossom and honeysuckle. The base notes are Indonesian sandalwood, skin musk, Siam benzoin and vanilla.

Antonio Brown stepped out in style to host the unveiling of his fall 2015 LVL XIII luxury shoe collection Thursday night at Atlanta’s Westside Cultural Arts Center.

“LVL XIII Unveiling: The World Is Not Enough” was filmed by VH1 and definitely maintained a grown and sexy vibe, similar to the style of LVL XIII footwear. Celebrity DJ Jay Marz was in charge of music, and hors d’oeuvres catered by celebrity chef DePhon Robinson were served. The gala began right after the viewing of Brown’s fashion-forward shoes for fall.

Entertainers well-known around town showed up to support Brown, including “It Kills Me” singer Melanie Fiona, who also co-hosted. Others who attended in their best fashionably chic attire were reality stars Shay Johnson and Bambi, LaKenya Morris of “Cutting It in the ATL,” and actors Chrystale Wilson and Julian Walker. Fiona also treated the gathering to a very special musical performance.

The event donated 20 percent of funds collected to MetroKidz Atlanta and The Atlanta Dream Center to purchase backpacks for underprivileged children for the new school year.

Brown launched LVL XIII Brands, Inc. two years ago in New York and eventually relocated his business to Atlanta. He began selling luxury sneakers and is now in the process of offering apparel, oxfords, loafers, and sandals, as well.

Timepiece designed exclusively for men of Morehouse College

Morehouse College class of '82 graduate Howie Hodges took his commitment to “The House” seriously when he created a trademarked design for a signature watch to be exclusively worn by the formidable Morehouse Man.

Hodges Watch Company (HWCo) donated one of the "luxury hand-assembled" watches to the college to be auctioned at the 2015 27th Annual Candle in the Dark Gala that was recently held in Atlanta. The silent auction winner was Morehouse Alumnus Gregory T. Burrell, class of '90, a prominent businessman from Philadelphia where he is president and CEO of the Terry Funeral Home.

The HWCo watches are an élite and limited Morehouse College collection where only 350 will be offered for sale. Morehouse gets a percentage of all sales through an approved licensing arrangement.


Watches are custom-made-to-order with a remarkable layered dial of iconic "Graves Hall" crafted from sterling silver, over iridescent mother-of-pearl. All movements are SWISS made and imported by HWCo.

Hodges, says, “I have a passion for watches, and I wanted to design and manufacture a “collectable timepiece” that could be passed down from generation-to-generation of Morehouse men and to help my Alma Mater and have fun doing so. And, to remind me of the momentous years I spent on campus.”

Betsey Johnson is 'hot' and heels-over-head during New York Fashion Week

Betsey Johnson, 71, is still kicking it. The fashion designer debuted her fall 2014 collection for her eponymous fashion line during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center this week. Boy, did she amaze. She says her  2014 womenswear collection was inspired by "all the rock chicks; Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Rihanna.'It's clothes for the rock stars. I do believe that every girl has a rock star inside of her just waiting to get out."

Betsey enlisted the help of some very sexy, shirtless firemen to cool things off at the rocker chic-inspired extravaganza.

Wendy Williams and Paris Hilton were spotted seated front row taking in all the action. 

Rocker-chic models wore sequins, thigh-high socks and fur coats.
