French fashion house Chanel is opening its first eponymous spa at the newly renovated Hôtel Ritz Paris, where Mademoiselle Gabrielle “CoCo” Bonheur Chanel lived for 34 years, until her death in 1971. The Ritz Paris closed in 2012 for the biggest renovation in its 117-year history and with this announcement among others is certain to make a grand re-opening – set for this end of this year. It’s located in Paris’ 1st arrondissement overlooking the border of the Place Vendôme

“Chanel au Ritz Paris” is a “new beauty concept dedicated to Chanel’s skincare … [the spa will] provide women with a unique sensorial and customized experience,” according to a statement from Chanel. “The story linking Chanel and the Ritz Paris would not be complete without the opening of a new Coco Chanel suite inspired by the one she originally occupied and by the decor she loved so much.”

Along with the new spa, the Ritz Paris has updated the Coco Chanel Suite, a 1,670-square-foot guest room which consists of two bedrooms and a living area, as part of the property’s total renovation. It’s complete with her beige suede settee with quilted cushions and a folding screen made from lacquered Coromandel.

Save the date, reservations open on June 17. I am sure these two ladies won’t miss the opening.
