Dr. Maya Angelou visits Oprah on ‘Super Soul Sunday’
It was a Mother’s Day treat for those of us lucky enough to be home to catch it. Dr. Maya Angelou was Oprah’s guest on “Super Soul Sunday,” which is a weekly TV show that features exclusive interviews and all-new conversations between Oprah Winfrey and top thinkers, authors, filmmakers and spiritual leaders.
Dr. Maya Angelou, who recently wrote her newest memoir, Mom & Me & Mom, sat down with her “spiritual daughter” Oprah Winfrey to discuss her book as well as to impart wisdom to live by.
Here are the nuggets of wisdom she shared:
“When you know better, you do better.”
“I know I’m a good mother. I care and I dare. I care enough to let you go, but I dare enough to follow you.”
“Words are things.”
“Forgive yourself for every failure because you tried to do the right thing.”
“Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”
